Music ideas?

Cati, on August 2, 2019 at 8:12 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
We are having our wedding at a historic home with our ceremony being in the garden, cocktail hour being on the other side of the garden under a tent, and the reception being indoors in the main room. The bar and dancefloor is on the other side of the house.

Seemed like a good idea at the time but now I am unsure how to set up music. We are having a very small morning wedding (30 people) so we are not having a dj. We planned on playing music from our phone with a speaker. We are not sure how or what system to use so music is playing in multiple rooms and outside all at once (we dont want to have to worry about moving the speakers and setting them up in a different room throughout the day). Any ideas on multiple speakers that can connect to a phone using blueooth? Its a small town and wifi can be spotty.

We may have to rearrange where everything is being held. Just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.

Thanks!

Does it have to be playing in all places at the same time? If not, you could possibly get a wireless Bluetooth speaker and move it from space to space. It would be fairly simple and probably work for a small wedding. From my limited experience, I do know phones can connect to multiple Bluetooth devices at once, but don’t always like to... If WiFi could work, using Amazon Alexa devices or something similar could be an option.

I would recommend looking into renting bigger bluetooth speakers. Yes, the WiFi may be an issue, but the sound quality from smaller speakers probably won't be that great outdoors.

    Hey Cati!

Your wedding venue sounds really beautiful!! Are you working with an event coordinator at the venue? If so, perhaps that will be able to suggest someone that they have previously worked with that supplies sound systems. It would take a lot of pressure off you when it comes to setting up the music and ensuring that everything is running smoothly.

As you mentioned that WiFi can be a bit iffy, lI would definitely recommend downloading all of your music so that even if the WiFi is cutting out, your music will not be starting and stopping. By subscribing to a premium music streaming service, like Spotify, you will be able to create your own playlists and download everything.

Have you started making your playlists yet?
