Music for Wedding

Jessica, on July 24, 2019 at 11:41 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8

So we've somehow managed to iron most of the details of our wedding... everything seems to be on track. Wedding is in 51 days and I'm stomped on what to do for music. The music that we listen to are not really what I would want to play at a wedding. I'm already including some Ed Sheeran and Backstreet Boys, but I don't really like today's music. My heart is mostly in the 80's/90's...But I don't want just slow love songs.

Fiance is no help with the music selection, my tastes are pretty limited too. I don't know how to tackle this task. Is the last thing stressing me out.

Suggestions?

Play what you like and asks guests for requests so that there's something for everyone. What genres do you guests listen to?

The majority of my guests are hispanic, so they listen to music like you would at a club. Reggaeton, Bachata, Meringue, Salsa... most of the music I don't like. I can get behind some reggaeton, depending on the lyrics and very rarely some Bachata.

The younger non-Hispanic group listens mostly to rock - think Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold, The Circle, We are the Fallen etc.. There is not many of us.

The older non-Hispanic would probably be happy with the slow love songs.

Omg! FH and I are having a 80's/90's/00's dance party for the reception! I'd be happy to share our playlist so far. Most songs are upbeat and I think it's 3+ hours already, but we'll add more as we get closer. FH's parents are in their mid-70's and very conservative, so Nicki Minaj and Lady G aren't exactly going to work for us. Also, we're not big country people.

Maybe if you find enough songs for like 2 hours or so you can just loop songs over again
