Music for the Ceremony

JessMJon, on September 9, 2009 at 2:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

I am having a traditional Lutheran (WELS) church wedding and need to pick musice for the pre-wedding, processional and recessional and need some suggestions. I plan on using Canon in D for the processional when the maids and I walk down the ailse, but that's all I have. I want a different song for the in laws and my grandparents to walk down to. I also have no idea on what song we use after the ceremony. HELP! I need classical pieces that can be played on organ or piano and I am lost!!

    Air on the G string

    Ava Maria

    Ode to joy

I'll see what else I can come up with

I am doing Chopin's Nocturne No. 2 Op. 9. For exiting there's always the ever-popular Wedding March from Midsummer Night's Dream by Mendelssohn. We are having our moms walk down the asile to Schubert's Ave Maria.

Great suggestions Ladies! I did look under the Songs tab and there are so many to choose from, I thought I would check to see what other brides were using or have used Smiley smile

In addition to Canon in D we're using Ode to Joy and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. More still TBD
