Multiple Postponements

Kimberly, on July 18, 2020 at 9:29 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

Hi all! I'm trying to get advice about possible postponing my wedding AGAIN. Our original date was April 18, 2020 and then we rescheduled for July 4, 2020. Then we decided to postpone again but this time to October 17, 2020. With the numbers rising and the issues around going to school in the fall, I'm thinking it may be a good idea to postpone again but to a later date in 2021. My vendors have been great but I'm starting to feel like they are getting annoyed with me for changing the date. What would you do?

Yikes. Yeah, I’m sure it’s frustrating for everyone to postpone that many times! If you are going to postpone again, I would suggest choosing a date in late 2021 (fall/winter) or early 2022, to avoid placing yourself in the same situation again. I would be afraid of vendors starting to charge you fees if you keep changing the date.

We’re postponing our 9/5/20 wedding and currently looking at 8/21/21. It seems so far away, but safer at the same time. Good luck!

We postponed from April to September here in Virginia. I couldn’t take another postponement. We’ve altered our reception layout and plan and having an outdoor ceremony. Maybe think of ways to modify and move ahead with the date?

We were 04/09 then 08/27 and now we are 04/01. I feel so much better now that we pushed it next year. I am no longer stalking the news and obsessing.

That sucks!!! It’s tough when I read about couples like you who only postponed a few months out, and are now facing multiple postponements. I guess it depends on whether you’re fine with a modified wedding in October. If not, then postpone far enough out into fall/winter 2021. We postponed from October 2020 to October 2021. It seemed far at the time, but definitely not anymore.

I’m with Leanne. Already had to move it to 2 different dates. Now with the final date, we completely changing the whole arrangement. We are just celebrating with our parents and us. Just don’t want to go through it again.
If you can, then move it to the latest date. This year has been crazy!

We went from June 2020 to August 2020 to mid June 2021 for the big ceremony.... Now on our second date in September for the mini. I'm totally fried. 70 days and counting. We won't reschedule the big one again.
