I booked my makeup artist and paid a $200 deposit many many months ago. I did a trial in July. It went great. I had another trial scheduled for September but ended up canceling the trial because I was happy with the first trial. The MUA was super responsive and provided great customer service.

On September 22 my planner reached out to the MUA to discuss the schedule for the wedding day. The MUA said she makes her own schedule. We haven’t heard from the MUA since. Both the planner and I have called and emailed the MUA. I even sent her a DM on IG. I’m super sad she ghosted me and now I’m 10 days out from my wedding with no MUA. My wedding is out of state so if I find a new MUA I probably won’t have time to fit in a trial. This sucks! I’m just here to vent as I’m pretty frustrated.

Oh no that isn't good. Do you see that she read the email on IG? It shows when someone looks at your message. I would definitely keep trying to contact her, hopefully she comes through.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you, that's really frustrating. That being said however, as the others have mentioned still trying to contact her and hope she comes through...would you even really want her at that point? It's extremely unprofessional and if it were me, I'd tell her no thanks if she decided to respond.
It's sad that you're losing out on your deposit but I would definitely suggest writing a review so she doesn't pull a stunt like this again with another bride and I'd begin looking for a new MUA immediately. Good luck!!

So after not responding to me for 23 days she finally emailed me yesterday and said she doesn’t make the day of schedule until a week before. She then provided me a schedule that has me ready a hour after I need to be ready. She never even asked what time I need to be ready. She also sent me a new invoice.

After calling and emailing for 3 weeks I don’t trust her to show up. I don’t want to work with her anymore. It would stress me out on the day and I would feel awkward while she was doing work. I already contracted another artist who is very responsive. I know someone that used the new MUA for her wedding and had a lot of good things to say. I still need to respond to the original artist and let her know her services are no longer needed.
