Moving Our Date Up a whole Year!

SUPER exciting! Congrats! My biggest concern with doing that would be availability at the venue and vendors. If that isn't a problem, the rest is easy!

Definitely! Where I live I started calling photographers about 13 months out and some of them were already booked for my date, even though it's the off season! You should 100% contact the venue(s) you're interested in ASAP, and start researching photographers, caterers, etc. I'm not sure how big your wedding is going to be but I'd also say budget is a big thing to consider. Less time to save might mean a smaller budget, so that's important to keep in mind.

You *can* plan a wedding in 6 months. We did it in about 7ish (give or take a couple of nasty illnesses).

However, you're going to have to get a move on. Like, start this very second. Most places book at least a year in advance, so you'll have to be flexible with your wants and maybe even the exact date.

Also, you'll probably have to buy a dress off-the-rack.
