Moved wedding date and state after sending Std!

Morgan, on November 17, 2019 at 1:14 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
I need help on how to word the invitations! My fiance and I are from Nebraska but live in Kansas now. We were going to have our wedding in a small town neither of us are from on May 8th so it was closer for my grandpa to attend. In september he passed away and we realized we didnt really want to get married in a town we have only been to once if my grandpa wasn't going to be there.

So we have officially moved everything to the Denver metro area on May 31st but had already sent the save the dates. We have told our immediate family of the change but I am not sure how to word the invitations to explain the change.

Thank you in advance!

You haven't told everyone you sent STDs yet that you changed both the date and the state the wedding is being held in? You need to send cards out ASAP, and ideally follow up with a call, text, and/or email to make sure they don't get lost in the mail. Do not wait until it's time to send invitations!

Agree with this! You need to tell every guest ASAP about the change. Right now is when I’d be booking flights/hotels for a May wedding so I’d be pretty annoyed if I booked everything and then found out months from now that it’s in a totally different place.

I would do maybe simple postcards just making everyone aware of the changes and then follow up with the information on a wedding site if you have one or some phone calls! That way they won’t be caught off guard on the invites

I agree with the ladies above. Do it ASAP and call or text everyone to confirm they got it because if they book a ticket to the wrong location I would feel like I had to pay for that because it wasn’t their fault.

I would lean into it! Send something that clearly says "CHANGE OF PLANS" as soon as possible!
