Mother/son dance

Kim, on April 29, 2021 at 9:29 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
Anybody have any ideas for mother/son dances? I'm getting married and want to have a dance with my son. Coming up with a blank when it comes to song ideas

Yes and all the songs seem to be more for a mother son if he's the groom

Not sure how young he is but does he have a favorite Disney song or is there something you both enjoy together on the radio?

My brother and mom danced to "I'll Always Love My Mama" by The Intruders at his wedding. They both bawled their eyes out but of course that has always been there dedication song to one another and it was at his wedding, not hers, so I'm not sure if it would fit the vibe. Smiley catface

Hello Kim, any song that you and your son both love is fine to dance to, as long the lyrics are appropriate.

I know you want a bride-son dance, not a groom-mother of the groom one ... But my opinion works both ways.

You don't have to dance to a tear-jerker song or one that mention "mama","mom","mother,"son" or love ( there's nothing wrong with this,of course).

If I were in your shoes: I would just ask him what songs he would love to dance to, and pick one we both love, regardless of the style. OR I would give him a list of songs I love and would let him pick his favorite one.

    If you need some suggestions:

A Song For My Son – Mikki Viereck; Have I Told You Lately by Van Morrison; My Son by Sonny Knowles; Unforgettable by Nat King & Natalie Cole; Lean On Me by Bill Withers.

I'm dancing with my 16 year old son since my dad is out of the picture and my grandfather passed. We are dancing to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. Beautiful song!
