Mothers of bride and groom dresses

Hi Trisha! Welcome to WeddingWire! While it's defintiely not required for your parents or in-laws to match the bridal party, some great colors that pair well are beige, burgundy, and navy blue! Dusty blue also looks lovely for a spring wedding!

That would look perfectly fine! They definitely do not need to wear the same color!

I think the steel/dusty blue would be fine with your mom in burgundy. Remember that they're not standing up there with you like a bridesmaid would, so it really won't matter too much what color they wear. Let them choose what they're comfortable in, and I'm sure it will be gorgeous! Chances are, they'll try their best to be mindful of your color scheme (you know, not picking lime green or neon pink...) without you even having to dictate color.

My colors were the same as yours, bridesmaids in blush and groomsmen in navy 😊 We also had gold and burgundy in our color scheme. My mom found a burgundy dress (she originally planned on a royal blue dress but ended up loving a burgundy one) and my MIL then chose to wear a navy dress. I didn’t tell them what colors to wear, they figured it out on their own. I think beige, navy, purple, blue would all look nice on a MOG with your wedding colors!

Our colors were similar, guys in navy and girls in burgundy. My mom and H's step mom wore navy, and H's mom wore purple. I let them wear whatever they wanted, except for white. That was my only rule.

Our moms asked me, and I've requested they wear a dark blue. Our main wedding color is royal blue, and the bridesmaids are wearing that.

I love the look of the burgundy next to blush for your wedding. Our parents are going to be photographed so much, and they're very nice to want to dress in a color that you like.
