Mothers Dresses

My mom's dress is from Adrianna Papell, and my FMIL's dress is from Dillard's!

My mother in law actually just went to Ross and got hers

We got my moms at Davids Bridal for about $120. As soon as she walked out of the changing room 3 girls complimented her dress and one of them even bought the same one!

My mom got a really pretty one at David’s bridal. They told her it wouldn’t come in until May (!) but it came in a week later. She also went to Dillard’s and actually bought one there that she will be returning (went there first). Based on what she tried on, we liked the options at DB better.

We went to Davids Bridal for my moms. I didn't have a good wedding dress shopping experience there (consultant went MIA) but the mothers shopping event was fine. They had a lot to pick from, you can buy off the rack, but we ordered in January and it came in already. My FMIL went to a dept store, and my other FMIL is ordering online from JJshouse. For alterations they're planning to use a local seamstress.

My mom found her dress at Macy’s (while we were randomly walking through the dress section) and my FMIL got hers from Nordstrom.


I took my FMIL out dress shopping for her bc I live in the city so it was a nice date for us to do, but she never ended up finding anything at the boutiques we went to. It was still a really nice day though!
I think it’s really nice that you wanna have a dress shopping date with them! (:

I had great luck at Macy's; however, where we live, I realized different Macy's locations can have much different inventory. There is one store that's in an area with a lot of retired people and the selection there definitely reflected that demographic. At the stores in larger, high-end malls, those Macy's had a huge selection and much more contemporary, "younger" styles (but still appropriate for a middle-aged MOB). Macy's also has great sales and/or coupons....
