Mother Son Song for an un-close relationship

Im looking for the same so let's hope there's some good replys lol

If they're not close, is skipping the mother-son dance an option?

My FH and his mom have always had a rocky relationship. She didnt even think she was going to get a mother son dance at the wedding. We chose simple man (the shinedown version). Easy to dance to, not necessarily your typical mother son dance.

Not an option to eliminate it., their relantionship is okay, just not the typical mother son.

My husband also has a not very close relationship with his mother but still wanted to do the mother/son dance, he chose "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. It wasn't overly sentimental but was very nice and easy to dance to!

I have the same situation and we are looking at imagine by John Lennon, hallelujah, Blackbird by Beatles, and your song by Elton John. I suggested he pick something that his mom would be comfortable with but it doesn't have to be really lovey.

View Quoted Comment We're having the same problem with our wedding plans and if we skip that dance she will feel slighted and mat cause a scene. We are trying to prevent that from happening by including her but can't find a good song.
