Mother / Son Dance Coordination from Different States

M&M, on April 13, 2021 at 9:36 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 2

Hello all,

My mom and I want to do a standard, classic dance for our mother / son dance at our wedding in two months. Nothing elaborate, but a few notches above standing and swaying. We would like to have something choreographed and perform it at the wedding. The issue is we live in different states. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions for having a dance choreographed and then we learn it separately in different states and then we put it together the night before the wedding or so?

Thanks!

Hello! My husband just coordinated with his mom across the the country. He picked some songs that had dances already ascoated with them, think single ladies, bye bye bye, the carleton, etc. Other songs they considered were soulja boy and can't touch this. Find instruction videos on these and practice via zoom then coordinate in the days before the wedding. If you just want a slow song, meet with a coordinator over zoom and have someone fill in for you mom and yourself respectively. Then practice with that partner until you can get together with your mom in the days before the wedding.

Hi Matthew! I'd find a dance instructor and ask them for help choreographing something! Then you can take a video of the steps and instructions to send to your mom, and she can also employ the help of a dance teacher on her end!

Just make sure to practice a few times together before the wedding!
