Mother of the bride/groom corsage

Ok, so, would it be strange to not do corsages for mother of the bride/ groom? I was thinking instead we could give them brooches as a gift that they can wear on the wedding day. My mom won't care, but fiance's mom is very particular, and goes to a lot of weddings, so I don't want to offend her by not going the traditional route. But brooches 1)cost less money and 2) is something she could keep. Something like this?

    My mom hates corsages. The only reason she's getting one is because FMIL wanted one and she didn't want to look like the Scrooge mother. Lol

    I think it's fine. My mom would be happy to have nothing. People know who the mother of the bride is.

    I'm so glad y'all think this is a good idea! I definitely want to do something sweet for these women, but corsages would run us $35/piece, and these brooches are only $25 for two.

    We are doing bouquets and a bracelet or necklace for our moms. That brooch is a great idea!
