Mother of the Bride wear 2019

Whats on trend out there for Mother of the Bride 2019 ? What would you want your Mother to wear if you were having an outdoor ceremony (think spectacular backdrop of mountains and sky, helicopter access only) and were having both parents accompany you to the 'altar' ?
My daughter is wearing a modern Pronovia lace gown and tells me she doesnt care what I wear. This is a polite lie haha. She is VERY fashion concious and has a real eye for detail. Ceremony space was chosen for 'the photos', as well as the affinity her and her fianceé have for the outdoors; the majesty of nature.
I am thinking somwthing with q bit of lace as a nod to the bride, nuetral tonings (no bridesmaids to fit in with), and not too slim fitting as I have to get into and out of a helicopter. I dont want to look too matronly either - alot of what Ive been shown is more like Grandmother of the Bride than Mother of the bride ! Im stressing. Pointers please !!!

    Best advice is checking out MOB dresses on Pinterest or on a bridal store they usually are on Pinterest and they normally have boards on their Pinterest on what dresses they sell. Have you gone to one of your local bridal stores and made a appointment to look at MOB dresses yet? If not, I would sugguest doing that plus they typically have a different selection of dresses.

    Yes I have Amber and I didnt like anything I was shown. Too stiff and starchy, too formal and too old ! I know what I want but am yet to find it. Most outfits I have been shown seem predictable and are variations on a theme

    I would just look for evening gowns. My mom found a beautiful evening gown from Lord and Taylor that did not make her look matronly. I agree that MOB tend to sway that way. However, in essence, they are just evening gowns. I would just check out different department store evening gown sections and see if you like anything.

    I had really good luck at Macy's -- however, different stores have different inventory to match their demographic. One of our options is in a high-end mall, and they HAD tons of dresses, both before the winter holidays and again in the spring. (And, they can have amazing sales on formal wear right after Christmas.) Another fairly close store is in the middle of a retirement community, and their selection was much more "grandmother-of-the-bride/matronly," so you need to be strategic about where you shop. Another good option is Nordstrom. Good luck!


    PS -- personally, because of the helicopter transportation, I probably wouldn't choose a floor length dress.

    Adriana Papell has some beautiful dresses for MOB that you can get from Macy’s or online. I wore a long beaded silver/grey dress for my son’s wedding and it was very comfortable.

    Thanks Hannah but I dont want an evening gown as such. I will leave the glory of a full length gown to my daughter. Given the setting, I dont think a full length gown wouldnt look right, and nor would I feel right in it.

    Thank you. She hated it at first but it was such a perfect color and I loved it. Once she tried it on though, she loved it and my step dad loved it and he don't love anything lol

    Its funny because I tried on a rose pink lace dress the other day. Im not normally a pink person either. It was close but no cigar though. My youngest daughter didnt like the fir around the bust (it WAS too tight) and they didnt have the next size up. Shame. Hard to see clearly but it looked real similar to your Moms. MIL looks great too btw 😊

    Thank you for the pointer to Adriana Papell Cyndy - I appreciate it ! I have had a look and they do indeed have some lovely gowns as excellently modelled by yourself. Exquisite beading (as shown in yours) seems to be a feature which I love. Im also partial to silver grey, and have found one with butterfly sleeves which I could have altered Im sure. I havent found the outfit yet but am getting closer. I just want the outfit sorted ASAP so I can stop stressing
