Mother of the bride escort for processional - how to ask?

Elise, on August 5, 2019 at 9:48 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

My mother would like one of her nephews to escort her down the aisle, and I've offered to ask him on her behalf. Any specific wording or etiquette I should be aware of here? For example, is a text message okay?

Many thanks on how to handle this!

I think text is fine. It puts less pressure on him that way

I have some experience with this! Lol. So, I wanted a special convo with my brother in law to ask him to walk my mom... but... she told my sister who told her husband. Then I told my sister and she acted surprised.. lol. I’m not sure what the etiquette is, but I will be asking him in person when I see him in 2 weeks. Because it’s a very special role and deserves a heartfelt ask, but that’s just for my situation. Even though it’s already been confirmed, lol!

I agree, a simple text should be fine!

Yeah, I don't think there is anything to overthink here.
