What websites or stores would you recommend for finding the mother-of-the-bride dresses?

Both my mom and future mother in law got theirs on Nordstrom! They are more modern, have a ton of options and their return/exchange policy is wonderful. It made it really easy for them to order online and then return as necessary!

My mom got hers from jc Penneys. Macy's, Nordstrom, dillards, and David's bridal are all good options also.

I'm not at this point in wedding planning but this is a good question. When I went dress shopping I looked at mob and mog dresses and they seem very expensive at the wedding stores. I like the idea of the previous post to go to a department store instead.

Thank you darling! I've been to a few bridal salons that had mob & mog dresses. They can be pricy, too simple, or both. I like to keep my options open & we are still looking around at different dep. stores as well.

Definitely wherever your mom usually shops for dresses is a good idea. No need to narrow her focus to only "bridal" shops.

Thank you! That's so true! Smiley smile I think my mom fell in love with a dress that she saw online at Dillard's. I'm sure she'll get it. ♥

My fmil got hers from Lord & Taylor. They actually had some great sales when we went! My mom found hers at Davids Bridal. It was definitely a tad pricey, but also really gorgeous and unique. We just looked at theor formal dresses there not necessarily mob

My mom got hers from ASOS! I know that David's bridal sells some, also Nordstrom is a great option.

David’s Bridal often has sales and tons of dresses. If you’re mom is into it, don’t sleep on thrift stores and resale shops! And if she doesn’t mind renting, Rent the Runway is an amazing site with deals on designer gowns. JC Penney also has amazing prices and a lot of evening wear as well. This dress from JCP is similar to my mom’s dress (not sure where my mom got hers from, but hers was a high neck halter style).

ETA: My MIL bought her dress either from Macy’s or Lord and Taylor (I don’t remember but she shops at both). Macy’s always has a sale!

Nordstrom's & Macy's! My mom got hers at Macy's, I believe MIL did too. Step mom I think got hers at Nordstrom's at some point. I would just tell them to shop wherever they feel best getting formal attire. Bridal salon's ideas of "Mother of the ____" dresses always seem so...um..."Golden Girls." And plenty of mom's are not matronly in that way lol
