Mother of the bride dress the same color as bridesmaids

My fmil INSISTED she wear our wedding colors! I was appalled, but gave in! Now both mothers are in blue. (same as MOHs) I guess since they are walking us down the aisle it won't be so bad.

I think it will look fine as long as the style is different.

I don't think you need to sweat this. Unless you have your mom standing right next to your BP (and even then, it would probably be fine), it won't look weird. I think a good number of moms coordinate with the wedding party. As long as your mom feels beautiful in it, worry about something else.

Thanks ladies. I think my sister is just nervous because her dress is different then the rest of the bridesmaids. She wanted something more nice and got a champagne mother of the bride dress from Davids bridal. So I'm thinking she's nervous her and mom will look the same lol but its not my moms fault she got a mother of the bride dress.

I don't understand the picking and being weird over MOB/MOG dresses. I'm just letting them wear whatever the hell they want.

I was just at a wedding on Saturday in which the MOB wore not only the same color as the bridesmaids, but the same material. So the bridesmaids and the MOB were wearing navy lace dresses. I noticed in passing but didn't think it looked bad or wrong. If it doesn't bother you, your mom should wear the dress she loves.

This close to your wedding, there are bigger fish to fry. Don't worry about it, it will look fine.

I wouldn't worry about it, but get where you are coming from. I didn't want the mothers to look like they were bridesmaids.

Both my mom and MIL wore the same blue that 4 of my 7 bridesmaids wore. I even suggested my mom wear a bridesmaid dress (she is young looking and I think MOB dresses tend to look matronly so I wanted something she would be comfortable in). I wanted everyone to wear something they would be willing to wear again and was glad my mom and MIL both liked what they wore.

For the most part after your mother walking down the aisle, won't she be sitting anyway? I don't think it will be a biggie.

My mom's dress will be the same as our colors. I honestly don't think its bad and I doubt anyone would notice. Some people like to make a mountain out of an ant hill...

There is nothing wrong with her matching. My mom's dress is the exact same dress, but longer and a different color.

I think that, as long as the colour doesn't clash, then it'll all be good. If she loves the dress and feels fabulous in it, go for it.

I don't think it's a big deal at all. I personally wouldn't care.
