Hello!

I'm facing a semi-formal wedding outside in a cottage themed venue. Our colors are Peach, Grey, and Seagreen. The bridesmaid are in a dark grey long dress. The groomsmen are in a light grey suit, and the groom will be in a dark grey suit. There will be pops of Seagreen and Peach in our flowers.

My mother and fmil are insisting that they should be matching with the bridal party. Obviously they don't want to be in the exact same colors but they feel that they should somewhat match or compliment our colors. They are worried our pictures will look weird if they don't match.

Clearly they will get something they feel comfortable in, but how do I help them with their color options?

Also, my dad will be walking me down the aisle and had no idea about what color he should wear....

Please help us haha...

Thank you in advance!

If your mom wears peach then yes, your Dad can wear a peach tie.

My mom bought her own dress without consulting me. She cares about matching my wedding colors. I don't. I just want her to wear whatever she feels beautiful in and comfortable in. We have enough to plan. Let the adults dress themselves.

The mothers should wear what makes them feel beautiful to your wedding. Assure them that there is no need to match, and that you'd prefer for them to just be comfortable. They should stand out from the bridal party, not blend in.

Okay, I thought about it. My MOG last night wore a navy blue gown, and my MOB wore a white silk wrap top with a pair of wide black pants (that looked like a long skirt) with the most fabulous crystal earrings I"ve ever seen. They looked fab.

They don't have to match, they do need to be comfortable & feel beautiful. I told my mom, FMIL & aunt to wear anything they would like to to please do not wear same color as BMs or me. They all had absolutely no problem with it.
