Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom Attire

Our colors are dusty rose (bridesmaid dresses) and navy (brides- and groomsmen suits). My mom’s favorite color to wear is blue so she chose a navy dress, which I don’t mind at all. She absolutely loves it & that’s all that matters. I’m not worried about her “blending in.” My FMIL bought a dress that is a blue underlay with a purple lace overlay, so still coordinating but not exactly our colors.
They both asked me what they should wear, but I didn’t “decide” for them what to wear.

We told them wear what they wanted to. Our colors were crimson, plum and silver/light grey.
My mom opted for a plum dress and MIL opted for a navy dress.

Let them pick whatever they want to wear. They adults and can dress themselves. They don't need to match you.

My wedding colors were green & black with some pops of burgundy. MIL wore burgundy and my mom wore navy.

My colors are burgundy and dark blue. I told them they can wear whatever color they want, but if they wanted to match the wedding colors, FMIL looks great in blue and my mom looks great in burgundy. They both agreed, so that's what they're going to look for. We'll see what we can find for then!

They chose their own outfits with zero input from me. But my mom decided on gold and my stepmom and fmil decided on black.

We didn’t decide on a color, I didn’t know what any of our parents were wearing until they showed up to the wedding.

I told my mom and FMIL that they can wear what they want as long as it's not white! We're getting married in the fall so I also recommended they wear appropriate colors, but I trust that as adults they can dress themselves!! I am going with and paying for my FMIL's dress so she feels included in the planning and such (she lives in NC and we're in FL), but I'm letting her pick it out!

As long as they don't clash, it shouldn't be a big deal.
