Mother of groom dress

Jordan, on April 11, 2019 at 3:23 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
Hi everyone, just wanted to get a little input from you guys. We are having our wedding end of April next year in the afternoon. So hopefully the weather is beautiful, not too hot, not too cold. My question is should the mother of the groom wear a long dress, or a tea length dress since it's an afternoon event?

Whichever she prefers, my mom is wearing a floor length dress but my wedding will be indoors. But she picked that and I’m not interfering with her dress other than requesting that she doesn’t wear white/ivory or the wedding color

Parents, bride's or groom's, should wear whatever they want. As long as they are comfortable and feel confident in what they are wearing, they are all set. It's not your issue to be concerned about unless someone actually asks for your help.

I didn't know what my mother was going to wear to my wedding until she showed up looking beautiful in a dress she felt great in. My mil asked me to go shopping with her, so I did. I didn't direct her in any particular direction but gave her reassurance as she tried on things.

You have so many things to do. Don't make the attire of other adults one more thing to try and control.

She should where what she prefers that matches the formality of the event. If she’s asking for advice do you prefer long or tea length? How formal is the event? What are your bridesmaids wearing?

I think she should wear whichever she is comfortable in and likes. Smiley smile

Whatever she feels best in is what she should wear.

In terms of how formal it is, it would be kinda semi formal. I was kinda thinking floor length so that she would stand out. She asked what we would like and we told her that. But I also wonder what other ppl so

Our mom’s are wearing formal. I did specifically ask that they wear an floor length dress because I wanted them slightly fancier than the guests. But I let them pick out what they wanted after that.

My mom’s dress is the navy and my FMIL’s dress is the pink.

Sort of depends on the formality! I think either would work, maybe take her preference into consideration!

Yeah, I would love to be there when she goes shopping and see what she would like. I agree with all of you that she has to like it and feel comfortable in it
