Typically the couple doesn’t dictate what the MOB & MOG wear. It’s just whatever color/style they feel comfortable in. If the mothers are wanting to coordinate with your color scheme somehow, I would just choose a complementing color. You can Google or search on Pinterest for “dusty blue wedding color palette” and see which complementing colors they like best.

I'm assuming your MOG wanted your opinion I would suggest a neutral tone like champagne, gray, etc. Even a blush or periwinkle!

She has asked for my help in picking, and I don't want her to match the bridal party at all just needed color ideas that compliment the ones i have. I did tell her she could pick what she feels comfortable in as long as it isn't the same colors.

She did ask what I though would be nice, I worry about the lighter colors against her pale skin I know how that is- sometimes washes you out. I do like the idea of blush!

Black is always a classic option, especially if the men have black suits!

That is very kind of you to worry about what colors will look good with her hair and skin tone. Navy blue is a perfect color for this hair/skin combo! Just because your MOH is wearing navy does not mean the MOG can’t wear that color either! She won’t be walking down the aisle with your BMs or standing at the altar next to them. And very few (if any) photos are usually taken with the mothers and the BMs. I would just let her wear navy!

View Quoted Comment Agree ! No real reason for her to avoid navy. It’s a common color so certainly some other guests are likely to be in it as well. The MOH will still stand out amongst the bridal party, and every guest will know who she is.

It's fine for both mothers to wear navy!

These are obviously all bridesmaid but it gives you an idea of the color together... a dusty rose or sort of taupe color might look nice!!

What about purple? It tones in with blue, but isn't navy.

If you're worried that a soft lavender would wash her out you could go a deep, vibrant purple. Like this?

also there's lots of shades between the blue of your bridesmaid dress and the navy of your MOH. I'd choose one of those, if you know blue really suits her.

Any shade but white/ivory or cream would be fine by me!
