Mother of bride/ mother of groom attire

I would say a wine color to completely match the bridal party or a silver/grey to stand out a bit within pictures.

I have the same colors. I told the moms I didn't care what color they wore as long as it wasn't white or black. I did tell them that gray, Navy, pink/blush, champagne, or a wine color would look best in my opinion if they wanted to complement the wedding party but it was their choice.

My FMIL asked me what color to wear and I honestly said to her anything but white, but she really wanted me to choose the color so she came when we went bridesmaid dress shopping and found a nice gold dress at David’s Bridal

They are not usually in the same pictures as the wedding party so it doesn't matter. They can wear whatever color they like. If they ask for guidance then there are several colors that will coordinate nicely: blush, mauve, dusty pink, champagne, taupe, light blue, dusty blue, gold, silver - just to name a few.

Our groomsmen are wearing navy, our bridesmaids are wearing all different shades of pink/ wine colors. My mom’s dress is champagne, which actually matches the girls beautifully, as well as the belt on my dress. My FMIL is wearing navy, so she’ll match the guys. Kinda cool that it worked out each mom is kinda matching her child
