Mother-In-Law/Son-In-Law Dance

Private User, on January 12, 2016 at 12:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

My fiance's mom passed away and he's really close to my mom. We're thinking that his mother/son dance will be with her and I really can't think of any appropriate songs for them to dance to. Any recommendations would be helpful! I also had the idea of playing a slide show of pictures of his mom instead of him actually dancing but I'm not sure if that's too much or not. Thoughts?

A lot of people do a table with pictures of those who have passed - have you thought about that? I think a MIL/FI dance would be really really sweet! I would think of slow songs by artists that your fiance likes instead of googling Mother/Son dance

    ETA: picture!

I think the slide show will be a bit much. You don't want people upset. What kind of music do you listen to? There are so many songs. I always like "I hope you dance" by Lee Ann Womack. "My wish" by Rascal Flatts is a good one too.

Anything really. Probably either country or something oldies but I was looking for something very unique. I just have no idea where to start!

"You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story.

I think the dance is a very cute idea. I also like the "my wish" rascal flats!

I'm sorry but I think this is so awkward(your FH dancing with your mom). I would skip this element.

DH doesn't have a relationship with his mom and we skipped it- didn't want to bring any attention to it and since my mom has been a replacement mom to him, we still decided to skip it as we didn't want to cause more drama. I would just skip the dance as a nod to his mother if it were me.
