Mother-in-law wants to attend Bachelorette party

Lisa, on January 18, 2017 at 11:48 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

My future mother-in-law offered her family's beach house for my bachelorette party and the dates she is available to attend. She is an awesome person nd i am lucky shes my future MIL, however, I am not 100% comfortable with her being there and my mom is not coming. I assumed it would be bridesmaids and friends. Is it rude for me to say I don't want her to come?

No not rude but I probably wouldn't use her house in that case. I'd probably say something along the lines of "That is so kind of you to offer but it's going to be just me and my girlfriends. My mother isn't coming either"

No is complete sentence. Let her know someone else is planning the party and thank you.

My mom and MIL will both be at mine, but I would say its in poor taste to use her house but tell her she can not come. Find other lodging arrangements

Totally agree with @LB! It's not rude for you to want it to be just friends no moms, but I wouldn't use her beach house then!
