Mother in law gift???

Weronika, on February 4, 2017 at 6:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

I want to get something for the future mother in law. She always showers me with gifts and is highly involved with helping us plan the wedding. Any advice what would be a good thank you gift?

I bought this for my MIL on etsy! I dont have a picture of mine. This is their picture. I got them to change the flower to pink and writing to navy and the cute envelope it comes in was navy and pink to match!

Sorry it says.....Your son is such a special man and I know that it is true, he would not be the man I love if it were not for you. So if upon our wedding day, you shed a happy tear, just save it in this handkerchief, and know that I hold you dear

I am not close with my MIL. I had a hard time picking a gift for her because I don't have warm and fuzzy feelings toward her, and I didn't want to pretend like I did!

I also got her a handkerchief from etsy: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/1002070640. Mine said "Thank you for raising [my husband's name] to be the man of my dreams". I took out the "love" and just had my name and our wedding date in our wedding colors. I liked the saying because it focused on my relationship with my husband, instead of my relationship with her. She seemed to like it!

I'm really close to my MIL, we went to an Alex And Ani store and bought her three bracelets in our wedding colors (two purple and one orange) she wore them to the wedding and has worn them every time we've seen her since. We included a card with a personal message from both of us and gave it to her the day before the wedding, she seemed to really appreciate it. Smiley smile

The best thing I could find so far for my FMIL was the following. I also love the hankerchief idea; but I don't see FH's parents being much of criers?!? FH & I will be crying though! LOL

I did a picture frame for a photo of her and her son with a mother of the groom quote . A mother of groom mug bc she likes mugs and I will put a card letting her know we are treating her for hair and makeup the day of the wedding .

I'm closer to my FMIL than my own mother so we are planning on getting her a bracelet from both of us and a handkerchief just from me. Both from Etsy. There's a lot of ideas on there if you are still looking for ideas.

I've found a couple of things on Etsy that aren't necessarily wedding related. They convey more the importance of family. Let me see if I can find links.

I'm getting mine a locket necklace with my FH pic and her deceased fathers pic in it. Along with a sweet note. It'll make her cry I know it, and she will always have her favorite men close to her heart.

Not to push something that I make but I have an etsy store and had a lot of requests for candles that have different MIL sayings because some ladies didn't know what to get or might not know something that their FMIL would like. I know for me personally my FMIL doesn't wear jewelry other than her wedding band and diamond earrings so it's something that I'll probably do for her as well.

I found a photo frame on Etsy that says, "Thank you for raising your son to be the man of my dreams." I'll put a picture of me and FH in it, and later give her wedding photos. She's sentimental, and I know she'll love it.

I think we are going to get her a gift certificate to get pampered at the spa. My FMIL doesn't really like cutesy trinket things.
