Moss Fire Centerpieces=?

Blondie123, on December 30, 2013 at 2:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

I have purchased the centerpieces below from a woman on craigslist (It was a great deal!!). However, because I am doing a Midsummer Night's dream for my theme, I would like to add some moss on the log and fairy lights under the moss. I have already bought the fairy lights, but I'm having some issues with the moss. I understand that dried moss is quite flammable, and I am worried about the tables getting knocked and the vases/candles falling over and starting a fire. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy non-flammable moss- real or real looking?

I looked at this website, and they have dried natural moss and just natural moss. What's the difference? I also understand that you can soak dried moss and reconsitute it- is this better? And I'd really rather not have wet stuff on the table on top of lights. I could buy fresh from my florist, however, I understand that fresh can have bugs?

Am I just crazy worrying about all this stuff?

Hmmm.. Apparently they don't let you use plus signs in titles- the actual title of this is Moss plus Fire plus Centerpieces=?

I don't know about the difference. I do know that moss is stinky. Something you may want to consider since it will be at dining tables.

    Pretty centerpieces!

Real moss is really wet and won't light on fire easily. Dried moss is flammable because it is so dry. You can also get a real-looking dried moss in bags from Michaels or other craft stores that is made from plastic and will also be harder to light on fire.
