Morning treats for Bridesmaids and Mob?

Marissa, on September 7, 2019 at 11:35 AM Posted in Planning 0 16
So my bridal party will be getting ready at my house. The hair stylist will be there and the photographer will be joining later on for some pre-wedding pictures. However, I want to have a spread laid out for us to eat since it will be a LONG day (beginning at 5am). But I really don’t know what to have! I don’t want anything too heavy that we are uncomfortable all day but something to give us energy for the long day ahead. I was thinking of mimosas, coffee, fruit, maybe scrambled eggs & toast? Even thought about choc-covered fruits but not sure if it’ll be too early for chocolate. Does anyone have any better ideas?!

Depending on what time you’re finishing up, I would also offer something more substantial, maybe sandwiches or salads, for lunch.

I agree with the previous posters. I did muffins, fruit, and juice for breakfast and sandwiches, chips, fruit and veggies for lunch. I know you said you don’t want anything too heavy but I promise your bridesmaids don’t care about that. They want substantial real food because it’s a long day for them!

We luckily didn’t get ready til the afternoon but we had a blast with fruit, yogurt, sandwiches, juices, hummus, mini quiches, coffee, popovers, and some other pastries.

Also, I went to a wedding a few weeks ago and one of the getting-ready cocktails was a kombucha cocktail and it was SOOO good!

We had breakfast burritos (my father in law makes them for EVERY occasion lol), fruit lemonade, juice, coffee and water and then later one of my bridesmaids had her boyfriend drop off a sub tray for us and it was perfect!

I second the people suggesting providing a substantial lunch. I was in a wedding recently that had pastries and other finger foods, we had a bridesmaids fiancé bring us chicken nuggets and fries.

I got bagels, cream cheese, coffee, orange juice, and fruit for breakfast and then the venue provided us with fruit and cheese and drinks during lunch in the bridal suite. I think everyone felt satisfied with all that. We started hair and make up at the salon at 8am for my 5pm wedding because we did a lot of photos beforehand.

Protein for sure! Too many carbs (pastries) = crash & burn. Eggs or breakfast burritos would be dee-lish! If they’re getting ready at your place what about foods that can stay out for a few hours? Deviled or hard boiled eggs, bagels or pastries, cold cuts or finger sandwiches with meat, OJ, mimosas & coffee.

Since you are starting at 5AM, I suggest energy drinks & water FOR SURE. This is super early so I think you'll need a lot of caffeine, maybe even order chocolate covered espresso beans & other pop so girls can wake up.

I ordered breakfast & lunch from Panera. For breakfast, I did a dozen bagels, a large pastry spread, and a fruit bowl. I also had power bars/energy bars/granola bars. For lunch, each girl picked their own lunch so a sandwich/salad/soup or combo of that. I also had a veggie tray.

I wouldn't start mimosas until later in the day. If I had to be at a bridal suite at 5 AM and had a mimosa or two, I'd be asleep by 8 AM haha!
