Month of Coordinator

K, on October 19, 2017 at 4:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

I just hired our month of coordinator! I already feel so relieved.

I was worried that

1) our mothers would have to set things up/be in contact with vendors, or

2) i would end up setting everything up since I'd worried our parents would put their own spin on the decorating.

It was a last minute decision (financially) since we only have 5 months until the wedding. But I couldn't imagine cutting into hair and make up or losing out on time to mentally prepare myself in order to decorate or coordinate vendors. Who else opted for a coordinator?

Me!! I was ready to take all this on myself and then my contact at the wedding venue suggested I at least talk to the wedding planner they recommend since I'm on the other side of the country. Best decision so far. We just started but she's already lifted a huge weight off of my shoulders and has brought up things that never crossed my mind.

Our good ones are worth their weight in gold...our friendors and newbies just get in everyone's way.

I would totally, totally recommend it even if you have to cut something or someone else.

I got a month and day of coordinator, contracted through our venue. She owns her own separate company but works with our venue often, so we were able to meet her the day we signed the contract for the venue. It was nice. Totally worth it!

They definitely can be expensive! I got lucky and got mine for $950. I would also recommend getting one that is familiar with your venue. It helps us out since she knows the rules and expectations of our venue.

We hired our DOC (who is really like a MOC, but available for troubleshooting the whole time) last week, and I love her. It is a MUST HAVE for me, with an at-home wedding

We did this! Granted we hired her a little earlier (10 months out). It's been such a relief to not have to worry about the last minute stuff that would come up. She's been such a help already with vendor recommendations and just general question answering haha
