Money tree/Card box

Danielle , on May 26, 2012 at 2:17 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 2

Is it tacky, rude, or greedy or anything to have a money tree & a card box? I was gonna do the money tree for people that didnt know what to get us or whatever and just wanted to donate a few dollars and the card box for people with congradulation cards or anything so they arent giving them to us all night long.

I would just do the card box. Though i have never seen a money tree in real life, so I'm not really sure how it works. But I would assume that people would just put some cash in a card if they wanted to give money.

Hi Danielle ~ Welcome to WW

I also agree, only the card box.

And if it is a Box, you should weigh it down with a brick or something.

I'm not trying to see the negative, but you should know that sticky fingers Do Exist at weddings. It could be a server, it could be a random wedding crasher, it could be a wedding guest.

Example, Shannon P had Half of her GIFTS walk away https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/back-married-and-disgusted-help/a4cf8916e10a1356.html

    and a card box issue

Having money dangling on a tree is just asking for trouble.

    ~ happy planning ~
