Money Regrets?

Masonbride, on April 22, 2019 at 10:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Is there anything you’ve purchased or offered to pay for that your regretting now?

Mine are the BM dresses, not because of the money because the ones I found are SUPER affordable & already fit into my budget, I have 3 BM one of them is my FSIL, she just found out I’m paying for them & tried to insist on paying for hers....Again it’s not a huge expense by no means but I wish I woulda waited to say I would pay because that money even though it’s a small amount could have helped pay for something else. The main reason I planned on buying them was because the only wedding I had ever been in they purchased my dress for me before they even asked me to be in it! So I thought it was the way it was supposed to be, I would never go back on my word now though...is there anything you’ve regretted $$$ wise?

We're eloping in Hawaii with immediate family and turning it into our honeymoon trip as well so it's definitely going to get a little bit pricey. I feel once everything is done and paid for that we should have done it somewhere way closer to home because that money could have gone elsewhere as well but in both our hearts we wanted something special that neither of us have done before so this will probably be our splurge for like the rest of our lives Smiley xd

The whole wedding?? Haha 😂 I would have fought fh harder on keeping guest list trim. Would have chosen a cheaper venue. Would have done a brunch or lunch wedding... I would have done way less floral, less unnecessary decor extras, would have not ordered the first dress I ordered as it was a waste of money.
Essentially I would have a totally different wedding but this is my second and fh first. I tried to warn him on the expense but he didn’t listen. Now he’s regretting it lol. Good learning experience for our marriage: listen to your wife 😂

I accidentally ordered way too many Save The Dates... I did my headcount of guests and not actual addresses.. oops. Spent about $150 more than I needed to.
Having learned my lesson now I've become much nore frugal and double checking on everything. Lol

Yes! My cake topper. I got it from Etsy for about $10. I thought it was going to be chipboard or at least heavy cardboard, but it came and it was legit just scrapbook paper. I could have made it on my cricut for less than $1. I am so disappointed with it.

I wish we stayed true to what we wanted to do, which was just to get married by ourselves. We would've saved like 20k if we hadn't been pressured by our thoughts of how sad our family would be if they weren't invited. It could've gone towards our down payment for our house.

So I wanted a DIY boba bar because we love boba. And it was supposed to be for the reception but logistically it felt kind of impossible aha so we moved it to the ceremony since we will have a water station anyway. However, I had already gotten all those materials before deciding to move it to the ceremony. So in other words I have excess. It's not really a huge biggie but at the same time I wish I had made this choice before I got those things.
