Money dances are already bad, but covid adds yet another level of “nope.” I would skip it, especially now. Not sure what timing them would do, covid doesn’t care about the clock.

What Caytlyn said. 100%. Money dances are tacky to begin with, but having a money dance in the middle of a pandemic is just plain irresponsible. Please consider skipping it for the sake of your guests' health and safety.

I completely agree with the others. I think it is tacky under more circumstances and very danger under current circumstances. Skip it all together.

Agree with everyone else. Now is not the time to get upclose and personal with all of your guests, and putting an arbitrary time limit on a dance would not add any additional layer of safety. Find another alternative to replace that time.

Money dances are not tacky. That word is SOOO overused on this site, there are not enough eye rolls. If I had a dollar for every time I saw that word, I’d never have to do a money dance for the rest of my life! They are cultural and calling them “tacky” is offensive. But with current situations I would avoid it. Too much close contact!

Lol this board is priceless. Here’s my two cent, if you already decided to invite them to wedding where they are drinking and eating without a mask, your going around to tables to say hi and welcome and getting married in front of them, chances are if COVID was at the wedding it would of been passed on long before the money dance even started. I say you do you if you want it, then have it

I agree tacky is way overused, and in some cultures a money dance is tradition

This is the comment that makes me happy ! I read so many comments of people saying I’m having everyone wear masks and social distancing. People are already at risk being there so forcing them to wear a mask isn’t going to do anything for them. Yes it is the best protective measurement, but if people were really concerned they would postpone until there was a vaccine. Working as a medical worker, forcing any one person to wear a mask when they don’t want to is ignorant in their own self. Some people have true difficulties breathing in them or just don’t want to party with one.

Money dances are tacky. Some cultural practices are wrong, that's why cultural practices change over time.
