Mom drama

Ashley, on September 15, 2019 at 9:11 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 13
This whole wedding experience has been a nightmare because of my mom. If it’s not her way it’s a problem. First she was upset because she couldn’t invite all of who she wanted. My FH and I said from the beginning we only wanted about 100 people. Yet we compromised because her and my dad are helping us pay for it. Then she wanted to change the color dress I wanted her to wear. Okay I was okay with this because it’s her dress. Now she’s mad at me because I don’t want a jr. bride. I already have bridesmaids, a jr bridesmaid and a flower girl. She says that every wedding has one. I know it’s not true because I’ve been to plenty that don’t. She says that I’m being too difficult and a bridezilla. I’m trying to keep my vision but I’m tired of compromising when it’s my wedding. My dad and future in laws agree it’s what my FH and I want but for some reason my mom can’t understand that.

What is a jr bride? You may need to stop discussing wedding plan with her. I would sit her down and let her know you value her input but you have different visions for the day and while that's ok, you want your day to be the way you see it. Good luck.

Seriously, what is a jr bride? There is only one bride and it is YOU. You’re not being a bridezilla, mom is being unreasonable because she is helping pay.

I third the question "what is a junior bride?"

And...I'm not proud to admit it...but I've watched like every episode of Four Weddings, SYTTD, Bridezillas, My big fat American Gypsy Wedding...it doesn't make me an expert but...

I STILL have no idea what that is.

According to what I was told it’s a little girl (normally daughter, god-daughter, or close niece) that wears a dress similar to the bride. That’s all I know

Oh I feel ya on this. The moms annoyed me during the planning. You just have to stand your ground! Or it also helps not telling them any further details

Junior brides are super cringey to me. There’s no reason to make a 5 year old look like she’s getting married.

Stop discussing wedding details with your mom. She doesn’t need to know everything and it’s less drama.

Some people have one flower girl in white, often a communion dress, and wear a veil. I hate it, but usually not a mini bride in clingy or bare sexy gown, just an idealized virgin little girl .

Only reruns right now. It takes them longer to film because they have to do the twist where they're all friends. I heard that one of the four couples of the next episode breaks up before the wedding...Smiley sad

Ewwww this is terrible. I even dislike how most flower girl dresses are white or ivory and the girls are made to look like a mini bride. My FHs daughter will be our flower girl and she will be wearing a dress in a color similar to the bridesmaids, not the bride’s!

I prefer the party dress like bridesmaid's in colors look, too. Mini brides are creepy.
