moh may not make it.

Teresa, on August 18, 2020 at 10:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

I am beyond sad to hear that my best friend and MOH may not be able to attend the wedding or the bachelorette party. She is a surgical tech in Colorado and the hospital network she works with is saying that they are likely going to have to restrict travel at the start of flu season (last week of September).

Long story as short as possible. Biscuits (her nickname from me) was planning the weekend get away for the bachelorette party in SC but she as she is not certain she will go I will not allow her to pay for it! She is super sad that I am just going to book it. It's not a big deal to me. I would rather her make it to the wedding than miss a month worth of pay to come to both. I know her heart is hurt that I just paid for it but I cannot allow her to spend $550.00 on a weekend get away she can't attend. Plus she can put that money in her savings and she'll have some for monthly bills after the wedding.

I am TOTALLY willing to help pay her bills for the 8 days she will have to be out of work IF she can make it to my wedding. The 8 days are for her wait time on the 2 negative test she will have to provide her work before they will let her work again. What do I do here ladies? Do I not have a party since she likely won't make it? Do I have it anyway and then her and I go on a cruise once this cursed COVID is settled or what???

I am lost please give helpful advice!

You are being very kind and generous as well as understanding. It's a hard decision and maybe it's one the two of you can talk out. Ask her if she would mind you still having a party and then later just the two of you celebrating on your own. I'm sure she would go for it.

I'm sorry this is all happening, praying things go back to normal or at least the normal soon for all of us Covid Brides

Thank you, I hate seeing her hurt but I want to reassure her and us both that we will come out on top like always.

I'm so very sorry! This just happened with my FHs best man. Our wedding is labor day weekend and the best man works at sea world and they plan to re open labor day weekend and wont let anyone take time off. My FH is crushed.

You are being so sweet and supportive. It is so nice of you to help her with bills if she can come to your wedding. I would ask her which she would rather do as far as the bill help or the cruise go.

I'm so sorry your MOH can't make it! It sounds like you are a great and supportive friend! I would just stay in contact with her and keep up to date on her plans. Sounds like she has a possibility of making it to the wedding but the bach party may be something she has to miss unfortunately. My MOH is from South Korea and she is not able to come either because she has to get jaw surgery, shes graduating from college, and the pandemic has caused strict travel bans. I totally understand not being able to have your best friend/sister not able to be at the most important events of your life! I think that she really appreciates you being there for her though. You sound like a great human. Smiley heart
