moh is Amazing!!

I see sooo many posts about people having issues with their MOH being flakey or not responding, but is anyone else just blown away with how much their friend has done?

As soon as we moved out wedding up and we would be getting married in a few months, I told my best friend and right away she asked what she could do to help. I asked her to be my MOH when she came (driving an hour and half with her infant) to be there when I tried on dresses for the first time. She obviously said yes, being each other’s MOH is something we talked about in the past so we both knew what her answer would be.
Now, her precious son is 4 months old and she’s still putting so much time into trying to plan a bachelorette for me when my other bridesmaid gets in from Japan. She’s planning on being apart from her baby for the longer than she ever has before because she wants to do this for me (I told her this wasn’t necessary and we have back up plans in case he ends up tagging along).

I will admit that I haven’t been the best friend lately - everything is wedding related. Every time I end up texting her it has something to do with the wedding. But she’s been such a great support system and has helped me so much with picking bridesmaids dresses and shoes.

Does anyone else have a truly amazing MOH/bridal party?

    I went to impulsively buy my wedding dress and mine jumped in the car no questions asked. I just called her and said get in the car were buying the dress 😂

    4 years ago I was adamantly opposed to ever getting married. My crew is pretty great about listening to all the wedding talk.

    My beat friend gets the bulk of it. From complaining about things not working right to sending her photos of all the little DIYs that do work out. She’s a trooper for sure!

    I actually didn't even ask her to be MOH I said "You know you're maid of honor right?" And she said yup. 😆
    She's been the brains of the operation for over a decade, and it's not going to stop now.

    Aw that sounds great. Initially my bridal party didn't seem very interested in fact they were very MIA and I voiced I'd like them to at least respond to me a bit better and after that they threw me really awesome parties and were more available.

    My MOH is amazing! Before I had the last of my bridesmaids say yes (she needed to make sure she had enough time between her wedding and mine for budget reasons), my MOH was already wanting to make a group chat and begin planning stuff. She lives 4.5 hours away but is always asking what she can do. Which I don't have much right now, but the thought is still appreciated. I don't plan on having them help with much if anything, but I know if I needed something she would be there.

    That is so great. It is nice to have someone to be there for you during this process. My bridal party and some non bridal party members are just so wonderful. My best friend and MOH planned a awesome bachelorette party in the finger lakes along with another friend back in June. One of my friends planned a mini bridal shower two weekends ago. My fmil and two bridesmaids are hosting a bridal shower for me next Saturday. My MOH, cousin, friend, and mom are driving in almost 4 hours for my shower. I just love all my girls.

    That’s nice to hear! I think a lot of issues stem from people not letting their bridal party what they’re wanting/expecting. It’s good that after that the communication got better!

    Exactly! My MOH hasn’t done too much wedding planning wise, but it has been great getting to vent to her and bounce ideas off of her every now and then.

    That is so sweet! I know that everyone says no one else is going to be as excited for your wedding as you are, but it is so great when people actually do want to do pre-celebrations with you

    Mine's also been amazing.

    She drove me to the pop up shop where I found my dress, she planned an amazing wedding shower, she made my veil, has trekked way out to Queens with me for my first fitting, and so on.

    She has just balked at giving a speech, which is totally fine (and also why I asked her privately how she felt about it).

    I'm so grateful. I've picked out a super special gift because of all of this. She's a MASSIVE Star Wars fan, so I ordered 3 SW prints from Etsy and I'm putting them into a frame for her. I hope she likes it!

    Yes! I love my best friend but I'm pretty sure she has never planned anything in her life. I plan all of our vacations (our friend group goes on a vacation every year somewhere together, I plan ALL of this) and any girls trips or just fun days together. So I'm really surprised at how good she is at getting everything together with basically no input from me. She's been SOOO thoughtful and is really making me feel super special during this time. I was kind of expecting to micromanage things but I haven't at all and it's really taken the pressure off of me. She's been amazing!

    That sounds like such a great gift! I’m still stressing over what to get my MOH. After everything she’s done for me I keep feeling like nothing is good enough to get her!

    That’s amazing! I wasn’t expecting mine to be able to do much either, but she’s been the best! We both tend to half plan things and not follow through, so she’s definitely taking this very seriously.

    My MOH is FANTASTIC!! She's my best friend in the whole wide world and she is seriously amazing.

    Has been at every appointment, bridal shower, party so far.

    Is throwing what I know will be a totally AWESOME shower.

    Has been extremely generous in going above and beyond in helping me supply "swag bags" for my bachelorette trip.

    Has listened to me whine and complain about all the little things and even has planned on having a backup dress with her for anyone that dares show up in white lol.

    I don't have a single thing to worry about on my wedding day. This girl has my back. I will be able to fully enjoy being with my husband that day.

    I have 2 MOH's, my sister and my cousin who I grew up with. They are by far the most supportive and loving MOH's ever. They go above and beyond to make sure I'm happy and not stressed out. I can vent to them and when I need something done they jump and ensure it happens. They split tasks on everything. My sister planned my bridal shower and it was everything I could have ever hoped for. My cousin is planning my Bachelorette party and in a way she knows me best of all. She know's how extra I can be and as she puts it she's making sure my Bachelorette party is going to legendary lol. They are my rocks right now and I always let them know how much I appreciate everything they do for me.
