How many of yall had your maid of honor and best man give a speech? Amd if so did you ask them to or did they just do it?

Hi Samantha! Make sure to upload a picture for your avatar (instead of the default icons) so that we can get to know you and tell you apart from all the other posters.

Our MOH and BM did give speeches at our reception, but we also asked them to a few months beforehand and made sure they were comfortable doing so! If you want them to give a toast at the reception I'd ask them ASAP!

My MOH and I just talked about it last night actually! We are planning on it, but we checked with both the BM & MOH to make sure they were comfortable with it It's not necessary, but its the part my FH is most excited for!

That was basically the first thing the BM talked about was that he needed to start working on a speech even though our wedding is months away! Lol most of them know that it's common practice for them to do a speech.
ETA: I do agree that you should ask them if they're comfortable with it though.
