Modifying pronovias size12 down to 4

jessica, on April 28, 2018 at 8:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

I really liked a pronovias bridal dress but it's over budget. the original dress is over 3k. it could be 4k with alterations.

i found the two links below, one selling size 12 at 300 sterling pounds, one selling size 10 at 1100.

i wear us size0 or 2 for daily cloth, bust 32inch, waist 25inch.

looking at the pronovias size chart(which by default only start at size 4, no size 0 o size 2) and from some other post that i see, the pronovias size 12 might really be a size 8.

Do you think getting either the size 12 or size10 could be an option, without spending a fortune on dress alteration, if it's even possible to fit it down?

Thanks in advance.

Ignore the size numbers. Go by your actual measurements compared to the measurements in the Pronovias size chart. If the dress is a Pronovias 12, it fits a bust measurement of 40" and waist of 31 and a quarter. That is 8" too large in the bust and over 6" too large in the waist. The standard guideline is that depending on the style, dresses can be taken in or let out up to 2 sizes.

Most wedding dress sizes aren’t what your normal sizes are. My dress was ordered in a 10 and I’m normally a 4-6.

A general rule of thumb is you can alter a dress 2 sizes up, or 3 sizes down.

But also PPs are right, compare your measurements to the guide, wedding dress sizes mean basically nothing.

Compare your actual measurements to the size chart. Generally, more complex dresses can't be taken in as much as a simpler style.
