Just Said Yes December 2021

Mobility challenged fiancé

Haley, on March 22, 2020 at 1:45 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
My fiancé told me a while ago that he has Duchenne muscular dystrophy which means he uses a power scooter to get around so I need some help finding an accessible venue for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception. Any ideas for an accessible honeymoon destination as well would be greatly appreciated.

Idk if you'd be into it but the Disney parks are all incredibly accessable ☺️

The wedding might be in Canada so any options there would really help.

I don't know much about Canadian laws, but if their similar to the accessibility laws in the U.S., pretty much any restaurant should be able to accommodate you and your fiancé for your rehearsal dinner and most hotels should be able to host a wedding that meets your needs. As far as honeymoons, I would assume that a power scooter and sand is not a great combination, so maybe avoid beaches? Do you and/or your fiancé have any particular activities you are interested in doing on your honeymoon? Or any cities you'd like to visit? If you can narrow either of those things down at all I'd be happy to help you look and I'm guessing other stuck-at-home-indefinitely brides would be, too.
