mob Gift

Sara, on June 3, 2019 at 4:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Did you get your mom anything as a gift on the wedding day? My mom has helped out quite a bit and I want to get her something. Everything I've Googled seems a little cliche. Can I see what you did?

My mother means the world to me so I want to get her something but also struggle with most ideas not fitting her. She isn't big on jewelry or trinkets or "dust collectors."
However, I may buy her a simple calla lily designed necklace because calla lilies are her favorite. I'm thinking of writing her a letter to let her know how much I love and admire her and how I am who I am thanks to her. I bet your mom would love that, too.

My mom really likes bears and wine. I was going to get her a personalized wine bottle with a message on it, or a bear necklace. I can't really decide what I want to get her. It's hard when nothing is good enough!

If she really likes wine, maybe you can gift her with a wine tasting day or wine festival. I am sure she would love to have the experience with you!

Oh boy do I know that feeling. I second the other PP who mentioned a wine tasting or festival or they have those wine trains. Something you two could do together or ste could take someone.

Maybe find out what kind of wine she had at her wedding and get her a bottle of that (if she is/was married). You could always find a bottle of wine that she would never buy herself. Maybe an excursion instead of an item?

Daughter gave me a monogrammed handkerchief personalized with something I've said to her throughout her life, but what means the most to me is a very sweet and personal thank you note she wrote to me. (Actually, she and SIL wrote notes to both FOB and me.) We will treasure those notes forever and nothing she could have given me would mean more. Smiley heart

I was also thinking of writing her a note and putting it in a two picture frame where the note is on one side and a picture of me and her from my wedding can be on the other. Smiley smile

We are gifting all parents and grandparents. For MOB, we are gifting a picture frame that has a sentimental saying on it and a picture of bride (me) and her; and an embroidered handkerchief with a sentimental saying on it from FH.
