Mob dress question

Ericha, on December 23, 2019 at 4:05 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

So my mom just got her mob dress yesterday and she loves it and feels comfortable which I love and glad she’s got something that makes her feel beautiful but she doesn’t really match my bridal party color see attached. In person the color work but the pattern on my mom’s dress is kind of distracting. What do u guys think? Does it even matter I wasn’t sure how many pictures they would even be photographed in as I haven’t really been in any weddings or gone to many either so I don’t know mob etiquette.

I think it looks beautiful and if she's comfortable in it then I would say it's fine! A plum corsage can also help her match the bridal party, but I have also been to weddings where the MOB does stand out and is honored from the rest of the bridal party, and that's perfectly acceptable too!

I love the dress! And I like pp’s idea of a matching corsage.

Every wedding I have been to the mother of the bride doesn't necessarily have to match the bridal party colors so I would not let that stress you out. I think that dress looks beautiful and if that makes her feel beautiful and comfortable that is the most important thing. I do like the other pps idea and that maybe you can buy her a corsage or a hairpiece or jewelry that at least matches the bridal party colors if you want to have some kind of consistency in the color scheme.

My mother in law wore a similar dress to our wedding, with the black top and patterned bottom. It looked beautiful and photographed really well. It wasn’t exactly our wedding colors but I think that actually helped balance out our family photos. The pattern wasn’t distracting at all. I wouldn’t worry about it, if your mom feels comfortable in that dress, I’m sure she will look amazing.

Dressing MOBs can be super difficult, and I think the dress your mom chose looks great and if she's comfortable with it that's awesome. I don't think it will clash with your bridal party looks, and assuming you are wearing white/ivory you'll still stand out in photos. I wouldn't be concerned about it.

Especially with the MOB dress being neutral colors, I think it’ll look fine. It’d be one thing if it was a super colorful pattern. Black and white/ivory wont clash at all.

Parents aren't typically photographed with the bridal party so in my opinion its a complete non-issue. She will look great.
