MOB bouquet?

Silverlava, on January 1, 2017 at 2:37 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17

My mom mentioned to me that she wanted to hold a bouquet instead of wearing a corsage or something at the wedding. Has this been done before at weddings? I've never heard of it, but evidently she got this idea from her friend.

We do this for about a third of our brides. We call them tuzzie muzzies, although they're best described as mini-bouquets instead of wrist or pin on corsages. Many times, we order silver bouquet holders (that can be inscribed) and we fill those holders with flowers that match the bridal/bridal party bouquets.

After Centerpiece described it, I think it's a really lovely idea. I say do it.

Huh, cool! I was just worried it'd be too bridesmaid-y, since the bridesmaid bouquets are also just smaller bouquets.

I am having both our mothers carry nosegay bouquets. They are smaller then the bridal part bouquets and usually consist of just a few flowers.

Absolutely! I'm ordering one for both of our moms. They're super cute and no scratchy corsages!

My florist told me about this idea and I loved it. I think we are going to get them for our moms

My florist does them. They are very small clusters...Not so much 'bouquets' as they are just a few flowers tied together!

My mom mentioned wanting to do one too! She ultimately decided on a wrist corsage with a (fake) pearl bracelet instead of the ones with the ribbons. She was just worried about the look of the pin on corsages, or the wrist corsages with the shiny ribbon.

I looked at pictures on Pinterest though and really liked the look of the smaller bouquet! I don't know how small you're planning for your bridesmaids, but it would look different enough.

When we met with our florist, she asked if we wanted that option but both our moms wanted corsages.

My mom wants a corsage and FMIL wants a small bouquet. It's really personal preference. I let them each decide what they wanted.

We are doing that too for moms and grandmother - love the name - I hadn't heard of it!

I love this idea! I think corsages are kinda ugly and remind me of prom.

My mother never wanted any flowers, due to allergies. She, the MOG, and my grandmother pinned their corsages to their purses. They made sure to have purses with shoulder straps, so they could have their hands free.

The florist asked my mom if she wanted a small bouquet, but we both preferred corsages. I'd never heard of it before that.

Totally normal - I think corsages for some mothers are a bit dated. My mother mentioned she rather would not have one as it seemed very prom-like to her. So we are doing corsages only for the grandmothers and then doing very beautiful succulent rings for our mothers. Both of them loved the idea!

I was going to wrist corsages for the mom's but decided to give each one a long stemmed rose with ribbon tied to it. Cheaper really.
