Mixing Fabric/color Dress for moh

Kyra, on March 17, 2022 at 11:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 4 5
I’m using Revelry for black velvet dresses for my bridesmaids but my 15 year old cousin is my maid of honor and she doesn’t like any of the dresses/ are uncomfortable with how revealing they are. I also think I need to give her a junior size as well. Instead of altering I might just look elsewhere for a dress.

I’m wondering if I should do a grey velvet dress from somewhere else or a black dress but different fabric? I’m not sure what fabric would mix well with the velvet and need some help!

There are many velvet dresses on Revelry that are not revealing, in both juniors and adult sizes. However, there isn't a great selection of black so I see the dilemma. Since she's the MOH, I don't think it will be too weird to get her dress from somewhere else. It's common that the MOH doesn't exactly match the bridesmaids.

Azazie also has a few options in black velvet that aren't as revealing (there's a few that are revealing too).

Awesome, I will look into their dresses! The only thing I'm worried about is the black dye lot being different between Azazie and Revelry, which makes me think of using a different color instead of black so it's less noticeable?

Baltic Born has velvet dresses that are more conservative- fully covered backs, higher necklines. The come in black and grey. Differences in dye lots is much more visible with lighter colors- you’re a lot less likely to have an issue with black (source- I worked in bridal for three years)
