I love that idea! I feel like it's boring to have every single dish be the same color

I thought long and hard about doing this. I wanted to scour all the thrift stores near us (and there are a lot) and find pieces that complimented each other but didn't necessarily match. My plan was to just donate them right back. In the end we decided against it because we would have been responsible for cleaning and storing all those dishes and it felt like too much to add to our to do list. I still love the idea though.

I think that would look kind of pretty but would also be a lot to come up with

I think it's a great idea, but I would look into renting them. The time and trouble you might have locating everything could be extensive, unless you're having a relatively small wedding. Look around in your area for vintage rentals. Good luck!

We are doing mismatched china on our reception tables! We are doing predominately white china but each piece is different and might have a different design/color on them. They wound up being super cost effective as well. My coordinator found tons at an estate sale and paid maybe $20 total for them. At first I didn't think I would like the idea, but once I saw it I absolutely loved it. The only con is storage if you are purchasing them yourself and plan on keeping them.
