Mixed-gender Bridal Party Gifts

Hayley, on June 21, 2019 at 10:07 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

Hey there! So, I've been looking into gifts for my bridal party, which consists of two women and one man who is going to be my man of honor. I was wondering what other people have gotten as gifts for their mixed gender bridal parties. Originally, I was planning on getting them drinking horns until I realized my man of honor's cousin--who is getting married the day after my wedding--had already chosen that as their gift. Any ideas? We're a group of nerdy people who like ren faires and whatnot but I'm not averse to standard gifts.

I also had mixed party with bridesmaids and one bridesman. I pretty much got him the same thing as them but different styles. so for instance I got all the girls a bracelet with a knot design but for the bridesman I got him cuff links with the knot design instead. I got them all bridesmaids type socks like cute pink socks that say sole mate or whatever wedding theme but his were black and just said best Man on it.

Well if the gift doesn't say groomsmen or bridesman on it it doesn't matter, you could check out groomsmen gifts too. I've seen some cool things like axes and bottle openers forged by blacksmiths for presents.

You should give gifts that are personalized to each person’s interests and hobbies. I personally think that the same generic gift for each person isn’t a very good “thank you.” We have mixed genders on either side as well. My best friend is a tattoo artist so I got her a really nice leather bound sketch book, another good friend of mine loves whiskey so I’m getting him an etched set of whiskey glasses, etc.

Seconding this. I would shop for them as you would shop for their birthday. They don't all have to have the same gift, and it makes it more meaningful to the recipient to see that you've taken time to choose a thoughtful gift that relates to them as an individual.

We have a mixed gender wedding party. We got all the girls jewelry and all the guys cufflinks. I got my bridespeople custom water bottle. FH got the groomspeople these beautifully engraved steins and engraved bottle openers. He’s also planning to take them on a brewery tour while their here.

All our wedding party is flying out so we’ve also arranged some fun non-wedding activities and are coving all meals for the four days most of them are in the area. Not a gift per se but we figured that was honestly a better way to spend our money Smiley smile

I'm liking this one a lot. We're going for a natural woodland feel for the wedding, so I think I'll get them preserved flower bracelets and cufflinks, and take them out to a brewery. Thanks for the idea!

I bought like it was their bday or Christmas. My Matron and Maid of honor are both getting Harry Potter throw blankets because the 3 of us are obsessed with HP. 1 bridesmaid is getting a book of art from her favorite Studio Ghibli movie, we both love Spirited Away. Another bridesmaid is my dance sister (I've literally watched her grow up, shes 10 years younger than me, but shes family to.me). I got her a book on the history of tap dance, and am getting her some fun earrings as well. For my bridesman, he loves Deadpool and just bought a house with his wife (she perfectly okay with his Deadpool obsession), so I got him a Deadpool welcome mat, and a beer glass.

I am also getting nice thank you cards and putting a hand written letter in each, telling them how much I love them and what it means to me that they are standing up in the wedding.

I was a groomsmaid in a friends' wedding and got both sets of gifts. The bride made necklaces for the bridesmaids. She made me one in a different color as I was wearing the same dress but in black. I also got the same mug as the guys during the bachelor party to a ball game. The bride made the guys a hand painted mug with the team's logo and their name.

If all else fails, shop for them as if it's the birthday/Christmas. It was will be much more personal.

We gifted our mixed gender BP like it was for Christmas, each person got a gift personalized to them. I got my bridesman a dinosaur lamp. H got his groomswoman a bottle of wine and a book that was tailored to one of her hobbies.
