Mixed Bridal Party

Kimberly, on January 9, 2020 at 3:51 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
Hey all - I am drawing blanks on bridesmaid gift ideas. My brother is my Man of Honor and I have two bridesmaids beside him. Any ideas of what to get them that is friendly but nice for both? They have enough cups/tumblers and would not wear robes.

Or do you think since I am paying for their dresses/suit, hair/makeup (girls only), and accommodations that I can be off the hook for gifts? (Yes, I know it’s a lot to cover but they are all out of town and I want to do this for them. I plan on renting a big house in town for us all to stay together cheaper than a hotel room for everyone individually.)

I would just write them a nice thank you card. If you do decide to give gifts, you should gift items that are unique to them as individuals, not something generic for each of them. "Shop like it's their birthday" is the best advice.

I also have a mixed party with a Maid of Honor and a Man of Honor. I plan on getting my wedding party embroidered handkerchiefs the day of the ceremony:

Also, separate gifts for the Maid of Honor and Man of Honor. Hope this helps!

I got my bridesmaids girly things and my brother a gym bag and a few other guy things. I didn’t try to make the gifts match.

I had a mixed party also. I gave the girls these necklaces and bracelets that had bows and knots on them but for my bridesman I gave him knot cufflinks. See that way he can still be getting the same thing but diff style.

I had a bride's man and my husband had a groomswoman. My brother got the same gift as the groomen and the groomswoman got the same gift as the bridesmaids. I also about my brother a special shirt that said I never imagined being a bride's man, but here I am killing it. He loved it.

Honestly, I would take free accommodations over a gift any day. And I know my girls would too, but we are all in our mid-20s and not making a lot of money so for us, this would be huge. You've already given them a lot more than most brides, so a nice, heartfelt card is honestly more than enough.

That’s a neat idea! The same but a bit different.

That’s all of our financial situations too (late 20s and half still students). That’s why my fiancé and I saved up to make it easier on them and so we can all spend more time before/after instead of just one hectic/busy/stressful day together.
