Mix and match centerpieces?

Brianna, on July 8, 2019 at 9:24 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18
I’m going to have three different centerpiece designs. The first one is glass and will have flowers in it, the second one is metal and will have a floral arrangement on top (this was my practice run), and the third one I haven’t started on yet and is the one I’m stuck on. Would it look weird if I have glass, metal, AND wood centerpieces? Will the manzanita branches stand out too much? Should I try to keep all the centerpieces the same material (all glass/metal)? Or does it matter? For reference, the tables will look similar to the third picture, navy tablecloths with gold chargers around the table. HELP!😭

I've never seen mix and matched centerpieces but I'd say go for it. I don't really think they all need to be same

Hey Brianna! I love the idea of having different centerpieces on your tables! As Laura said, they will look special and unique.

Great job on your trial run of the flowers on the metal stand, it looks really great. Will the glass vase have the same color flowers in it?

I'm doing 2 different centerpiece designs! Personally I think it will make the room more dynamic and interesting-- one piece is going to be flower-heavy, and the other is going to be candle-heavy. This allowed me to pay for only 8 of the expensive floral centerpieces I wanted, and then do a much more affordable candle and flower petal arrangement on the other half of the tables. And the room will still be full of lush florals and flickering candlelight =) So basically, I think having two centerpiece designs is a great idea! For yours, I would recommend bringing a floral element to the branch design so that the two ideas mesh (maybe three flowers attached to the branches, or some roses laying on the table.

Hi Sinéad! Thanks! I'm planning on adding some eucalyptus leaves so it's not so floral heavy. Yes, the glass vases will have those same flowers in them Smiley smile

That's very helpful Lindsey, thank you! I'm planning on putting flowers in the planter box around the bottom of the tree and also some petals around the branches. All the tables will also have a few mercury votive candles so I'm hoping that also brings them all together!

Heeeeyyy finallly someone else with 3 centerpieces! I am doing that too! I don't think it's weird at all to mix finishes. I am doing a square flower box arrangement, a lantern with flowers on the sides at the base, and then the 3 tiered floating candles. I think it'll look great so long as you bring your floral colors and other things across all 3 to blend!

Hey! I haven't yet I'm waiting on a delivery of eucalyptus sprays to come in so I can add some greenery. I'll post pictures when I get around to getting some done!

Trial run #2! I like the florals better on the side rather than on the top. I’m probably going to put a few tall glass cylinder vases with floating candles in the middle.
