Mix and Match Bridesmaids

Whitney, on January 29, 2021 at 12:59 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
Hey all! I’m driving myself up a wall trying to figure out how to do multicolored/styled brides maid dresses. My other problem is that I have 9 bridesmaids which feels like a lot to me. Does anyone know any way to do this? My colors (fall) are olive green, terracotta, burgundy, mustard, and a liiiight blush. Guys will be wearing navy suits. I know it’s a lot of colors but 🤷🏻‍♀️ Should I do bridesmaids in blush, terracotta and burgundy, flower girls in mustard and just increase greenery in bouquets? I just don’t know haha

Depending on the shade of blush, I think the mustard terra-cotta and burgundy could work well for the bridesmaids and put the flower girls in blush! One good way to get the mix matched look is to get different fabrics in the same color, as the different fabrics add more visual interest. Jenny Yoo has some good examples of this!

What I did was let my maid of honor pick her color, then matched what would work best with my bridesmaid’s skin tone. I do agree that assigning the color for flower girls would be more uniformed. I recommend visualizing it all out first!

A few more examples mixing fabrics and textures. I’d also recommend looking on Pinterest for inspiration if you haven’t already Smiley smile

I cannot picture any mustard color on a little girl, though blush and terra cotta sound fine for them. But I very much like the idea of 3-4-5 even 9 related colors ( like all fall colors).

I agree. I would never put a little girl in mustard color. I honestly don't think I'd put anyone in that color as I don't think it's a very flattering color. I would probably do four colors as most. I think having some consistently will make it look better rather than distracting. Having too many different styles and colors can look very messy and distract from the bride and groom.

I am literally back and fourth with this same question. I want mix and match for my fall wedding but I have no idea where to start!
