I'm not really sure how we can help other than offer guidance which you've probably already thought of....ie retrace your tracks!

I agree with the others about not sure how we can help. Contact your insurance company ASAP and retrace your steps.

I would make an insurance claim.

View Quoted Comment Not to make things worse but unless you added coverage (which usually requires an appraisal) on your home (renter's) policy to specifically insure your ring then there's most likely little to no coverage for it.

I would call your insurance company and see what they say though.

I filed a claim and started the process and they were going to replace it because it covers loss! I found the ring on my closet floor and ended up cancelling the claim.
