Mismatched?

Brooke, on June 3, 2019 at 9:28 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
So my bridesmaids have very different shapes and styles, I was thinking just letting them pick a dress all the same length, but just letting them pick any dress shade of purple they’d like? I’m trying to keep it cost effective since two bridesmaids will still be in college and the other two are recent grads. However, my fiancé wants the groomsmen in matching suits (black pants, white shirt, purple tie, black jacket). Is it still possible to have my girls in mismatched dresses or will it clash too much?

No, that will work great. It would be too much if the groomsmen were mismatched as well.

I think this will look amazing! My girls will be mismatched, and our groomsmen will be matching.

You could also do a manufacturer like Azazie that has tons of choices at a wide-range of price points, where you just select the color/fabric. That way they can each choose their own style, but they really will match/blend beautifully. (Azazie has ties as well....)

I choose a color and let my girls pick the style that fit them best, none of them chose the same dress because they all have different body shapes, styles, and comfort levels.

    I am doing that!
I told them to find light pink dresses and it doesn't need to be the same. I think as long as they're in the same color spectrum and don't clash much from one another it's fine. Some people are adamant about matching but I too liked the idea or everyone having their own style and personality.
There's also dresses where it's one dress that they can tie into whatever style they'd want.

I think it will look fine! I personally love mismatched dresses because they don't look like total clones then Smiley laugh

I love mismatched dresses. Azazie really does make it very easy! I think you can even create a wardrobe of choices that they can pick from, if you want to keep a cohesive look.

I did this on azazie but I have them both the length and a specific color. It worked out great and everyone is happy with their dress!

I gave my ladies guidelines on length and a specific color... and then when 3/4 of them went shopping with me, they all chose the same dress. And they are all wildly different shapes and sizes.

So... start with that. Sometimes your maids surprise you!
