mismatched rings?

annie, on February 21, 2014 at 7:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

The wedding band we chose and ordered online came in today. My engagement ring is an emerald cut diamond solitaire with a plain band, and the wedding ring is 5 round diamonds. The rings don't match, or fit perfectly together, but I think that love them together anyway. What do you all think, and what we you doing or planning on doing for yours?

Mine aren't even going on the same finger due to the awkward size and shape of my engagement ring. I'm all for non-matchy.

I love the look of mismatched rings…it's just finding the right look together. I think if you love it that's all that matters. The different stones I think work well together!

Here's a pic of mine, it's a round cut with diamonds inlayed within ear prong and in between as well. I want something very feminine and soft that won't overtake the engagement ring. The delicate scrollwork will look nice. Our problem is finding it to try on…we might have to order it blind...

These are mine. I prefer having a wedding band I can wear on it's own without the e ring

Erica, my cousin wears her e ring on her left hand, and her wedding ring on her right... I love your rings, totally unique!

Future Mrs, I think that band will work well your diamond, most (reputable) online jewelry stores are really good about returns, so you should be safe!

@Jessica ~ I agree with you. i want to wear my wedding band by itself sometimes. I'm also planning on getting a simple infinity ring of his birthstone, aquamarine to wear sometimes as a way of way of saying I love you (when he travels, his birthday, special days in our lives, etc).

Thanks Annie - and I love your band, by the way. And Mrs. Patmore - wow - great detail in the ring! Jessica, yup! In fact, I usually take of my e-ring when I get home, but the band is delicate enough to keep on at all times.

@Erica ~ Thanks! It's so hard to photograph it! I have a good camera but I don't have a macro lens so I can't shoot it when I'm wearing it…I'm waiting for our e-pics to get better ones lol

I'm excited for this thread! I like the mismatched look Smiley winking I have been having one hell of a time finding a band, as my ring didn't come as a set. It is super wide and detailed and so its doesn't fit with most bands. I've even had jewelers laugh at me and tell me good luck finding something! But I think I have!

    1)Ering

    2)Shows how wide it is

    3)Band I found

I think that they look great together as they are. I think it's unique and you can wear it just as they are and it's perfect.

Jenn - is that one band or two? Did you have it made? Good job finding something that looks good with it!

Mine are perfect together, they both have the mill grain on the edge and pave diamonds, the rings butt up to each other with no gap but they're not the exact same and did not go as a set. I think I want another one for the other side or possibly two simple white gold bands eventually. I like mismatched but not so mismatched that it really draws attention to it... Weird I know but I'm strange about that stuff.

I love yours! The mismatch looks great! Your emerald diamond is a beauty.

My e-ring and wedding band are going to be mismatched as well! I am super excited about it not being a perfect match.

    Here is mine...

@Erica- it's two bands that make a "jacket" that my ering can snap into and they can be separated or I can have them soldered together, so it's one ring. It's an option I found at Jared. The lady was so helpful and determined to find something that would work, they also do custom but I love that one!

@Annie, I think so too! I think I found my band!
