Mismatched bridesmaid dresses?

I went for a satin dress for each and liked the cowl neck midi style

I like the look of complimentary dress colors. We did different shades of mauve for our bridesmaids and it turned out really well.

Hi Kristina, I think either way works, it's your day, what do the girls think? but those colors work well together. My girls will wear the same color, I'm paying for them,giving them as gifts, I'm going to wear the same as my second dress, bridesmaids will be in lilac and I will wear lavender.

I doing something like that too! I am having them pick out the dress they want and they all get to pick a shade of blue. I like giving them options and I want them to feel confident up with me. I like your idea!

I like the variations, especially because those browns and flesh tones can be hard from people with certain complexions to wear, so having choices within the same color family is great!

In the past it has been considered imperative that all bridesmaid dress match and this might work well if all of the women in your wedding party are of similar body type height skin tone hair colour etc. but more often than not this is not the case and having identical bridesmaid dresses in one colour and in one of said bridesmaid looking uncomfortable and feeling hideous.


So considering the basic rule in mind, you have already done the pretty good job. Pair of 3 dresses are great and I think you have already bought them that's the bigger reason of all

My girls are wearing black, they are able to pick any dress they feel comfortable in with a few guidelines. We are doing a Gothic themed wedding so I asked for tea length and on a vintage/Gothic note look. I think you should follow your gut and do what you want. It's your day after all. I've seen lots of mismatched bridesmaid in different colors and styles and the photo's are amazing!

All my bridesmaids’ dresses are the same color, but all very different in style.
Everyone is different, so it just makes sense to me!

We are doing mismatched shades of blue in three different styles. I absolutely love the look and every one of my ladies got to choose the dress that made them feel beautiful!
